Software and AI that gives your team hours back.

We build the workflows, tools, and automations small businesses don't have time to figure out themselves — backed by a real software engineering practice, not a hobby.

US-based Fixed-fee or retainer
How we work

From first call to handoff in three motions.

No bloated discovery decks, no surprise scope. We tell you what we're going to do, do it, then leave you with everything you need to run it yourself if you want to.

  1. step 01

    Discover

A 20-minute call, then a one-page proposal. We tell you what we'd build, what it'll cost, and what it won't do.

  2. step 02

    Build

We ship the first working version in weeks, not months — then iterate with you in the loop. Weekly demos, no theater.

  3. step 03

    Hand off

You get the code, the runbook, and the keys. We can keep operating it on a retainer or step away — your call.

For example

Two patterns you might recognize.

Illustrations of the kind of work we set out to do — not past clients. Yours probably looks different, which is exactly why we'd rather sit down for 20 minutes than guess.

Example

Dental practice

The pattern
A front desk that spends half the day on the phone — confirming appointments, rescheduling, and answering the same insurance questions.
What we'd build
An AI booking assistant that handles confirmations, reminders, and routine intake by SMS and voice, escalating only the exceptions to a human.
What it gets you
Front desk back to patients in the chair, not the phone.
Example

Specialty contractor

The pattern
Quotes that get sent and then forgotten. Personal follow-ups are inconsistent, and the close rate shows it.
What we'd build
An automation that tracks every quote in the CRM, drafts a personalized follow-up at the right interval, and surfaces the leads worth a phone call.
What it gets you
Higher close rate. Nothing falls through the cracks.
About

A small firm that ships.

Freeman Tech is run out of a deliberately small shop. We don't have account managers between you and the people writing the code, and we don't take on more work than we can do well.

Most of the trouble we get called in to fix comes from forgetting the same three things: small teams, simple architectures, and code your next engineer can read in an afternoon. We aim for all three.

— Don Freeman, founder

Free, 20 minutes

Pick a time. We'll bring the questions.

No deck, no demo, no commitment. We'll listen to where your team is losing time, point at the obvious wins, and tell you whether we're a fit. If we aren't, we'll usually know who is.

FAQ

Questions we usually get on the first call.

Don't see yours? Bring it to the call — or ask via the contact form and we'll answer in writing.

How do you charge?
Fixed-fee for scoped projects, monthly retainer for ongoing automation work. We agree on price up front — no surprise hours.
How long until I see results?
Most AI-automation engagements ship a first working version in 2–4 weeks. Larger custom-software builds run 6–12 weeks for an MVP. We deliver value early and often, not all at the end.
Do you take small projects?
Yes — small, sharp engagements are some of our favorite work. If the scope is right we can often start within two weeks of a first call.
What stack do you use?
Whatever fits the problem and the team that will maintain it. We work most often with TypeScript / Python, Postgres, AWS or GCP, OpenAI, Anthropic, and a handful of automation platforms for the AI glue. We will tell you what we picked and why.
